Application of St. John's wort


In gastric and duodenal ulcers, acute and chronic gastritis, enterocolitis, burning, indigestion, diarrhea, burns, contaminated purulent and slow-healing wounds on the skin and mucous membranes, hemorrhoids, heavy menstruation, rheumatism, colitis. In case of anxiety, depression and depression, it gives peace of mind and has a general strengthening effect.

The herb is also called bellflower, cuttlefish, chopped licorice, Christ's blood or Christ's miracle worker. Its Latin name is Hypericum perforatum.


Description: Perennial rhizome herbaceous plant with a straight, round, branched stem at the top, up to 1 m high; with leaves opposite, sessile, elliptical, entire; with flowers large, yellow to orange, collected in a panicle. It blooms in summer.


Chemical composition: hypericin (has red, fluorescent pigments that are released when the plant is crushed) pseudohypericin, hyperoside, rutin, phenolic acids, waxes, carotenoids, fercitrin, essential oil: terpene and sesquiterpene, tannins.


Usage:
- internally - 3 glasses a day.
- externally by applying paws to the affected area.

Preparation:
- internally - 1 tablespoon is boiled with 250 ml of boiling water for 10-15 minutes.
- externally - 1 tablespoon of stalks is poured with 10 tablespoons of olive oil. The mixture stays in the dark for 40 days and is applied by applying paws on the affected area.


NOTE: Avoid strong sunlight for indoor use. Do not use by patients with chronic depression!
